The cold open aired as part of the programme’s final episode of 2025 and focused on recently disclosed Epstein-related documents that were published with significant redactions. The segment also included references to holiday themes consistent with the show’s end-of-year schedule.
NBC confirmed the episode followed the show’s standard production format, with the cold open preceding the opening credits. The sketch was performed live from Studio 8H at Rockefeller Center in New York, the network said.
